What is Feng Shui
Feng Shui is an ancient art that developed in China over 3000 years ago. In literal translation Feng means “wind” and Shui means ” water “. Air and water are the basic necessities of life. Living beings can stay alive for a few days or even a few weeks without food, but life without water is not possible. In Chinese culture, wind and water are associated with good health and therefore good feng shui signifies good fortune and bad feng shui means bad fortune.
Chinese believe that natural energy can be utilized to it’s fullest by proper arrangement of things in homes. Feng Shui aims at creating a positive and auspicious environment by establishing coordination among the energies of the earth and heaven. Feng Shui can also be understood as the art of placement of objects within a given space which would have an impact on various areas of life. Basically, it teaches how to balance and harmonize the energy of a given space. It can be utilized in home, office or a garden. Feng shui is all about attracting good energy (sheng chi) at a given space which would prove beneficial for the inhabitants. It can make a residence, workplace, and life of people very peaceful, healthy and rewarding. Good fortune comes in various forms which include successful career, better health, fulfilling love life etc. Swimming with the flow of water in a stream is quite easy as compared to swimming against the flow. This rule if followed in life, can make a person’s life more efficient. Similarly, Feng Shui is that art with the help of which nature and it’s energy can be made more favorable and beneficial for the inhabitants.
